Tom Dixon: The Manzoni in Milan
Self-taught British designer and creator, Tom Dixon, continues to leave a footprint in the world of design. His new restaurant and showroom, The Manzoni, opened its doors to the public May 2019 in Milan, Italy. As guests dine in this unique location, they find themselves surrounded by Dixon’s latest decorative pieces, new line of furniture, and elegant lighting all available for purchase. Combining elements of food and design is not a new concept for Dixon, coming from his Coal Office in London which shares the same vision.
One of the most distinctive elements of Dixon’s inspiration pulls from the beauty and reliability of natural resources, metals and earthy materials. His designs derive from curiosity and fearlessness as his collection of bold pieces accentuate the given space while emitting a feeling of ease and comfortability.
A dangling display of delicate glowing orbs illuminate the predominant meeting space. In contrast to the clean and modern opalescent lighting, the sturdy tables and Fat Dining Chairs bring a welcoming essence of warmth and familiarity to guests. The gothic and monochromatic stone art pieces on the wall add texture while maintaining clean lines of symmetry.
Since establishing his own brand in 2002, Dixon has fulfilled his mission to explore a new concept of what home and office spaces can feel like. Dixon’s keen sense of style gives prominence to each individual item, making every piece just as intriguing as the next. This new fusion of a restaurant and gallery dining experience allows guests to bask in Dixon’s designs with the added benefit of knowing that everything is available for purchase.
While it is an absolute privilege to be able to visit The Manzoni in person, Rouse Home now offers Dixon’s pieces featured in the restaurant. Browse the Tom Dixon collection now to add distinctive designer items to your home today.
