The Dipping Light Portable brings the same layered color and soft diffusion of the original design into a cordless, more flexible format. When lit, its bands of painted glass filter the light, casting a warm, ambient glow. When off, it reads as a sculptural object, a compact glass sphere with quiet presence.
Each shade is hand-crafted through a process of repeatedly dipping a lit bulb in paint, creating concentric layers that shape how light is diffused. Subtle variations from this process are intentional, giving each lamp its own character.
Designed for versatility, the portable version removes the need for wiring entirely. A built-in battery and integrated dimmer allow you to adjust the light across three levels, making it easy to move from one space to another and set the right atmosphere wherever it’s placed.
