The PK52 Professor Desk and PK52A Student Desk, designed by Poul Kjærholm for the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, perfectly embody Kjærholm’s ability to unite traditional craftsmanship with industrial design. Drawing on his background in cabinetmaking, he developed a refined and lightweight construction that combines wood and steel with exceptional precision. Metal ferrules subtly separate the two materials, enhancing the desks’ elegant and dynamic appearance. Defined by their clean, pared-down expression, both designs highlight Kjærholm’s significant contribution to Danish modern design. The PK52A Student Desk is the more compact version, while the PK52 Professor Desk offers a larger format. Both feature reversible tabletops, allowing users to work on one side and use the other for dining or entertaining, making them exceptionally versatile pieces for contemporary living.
