Description
Tembo was originally part of the Marginal notes exhibition held by Note design studio collective as a creative stunt. The concept was to produce in real life the various doodles and 'marginal notes' that the members of the group had in their notebook, however crazy they might be. Tembo is a sculptural stool that combines a wood metal body with a solid cork seat. The designers drew their inspiration both from the African tam-tams -Tembo means elephant coot in swahili - and give a nod to the Memphis group of the 80s aesthetics.
